Louis Vuitton Monogram Transparence might be LV’s most feminine collection ever

As enormously popular as Louis Vuitton is with women (In case you doubted that popularity, LVMH posted double-digit revenue increases in the most recent quarter.), the brand doesn’t have a reputation for being incredibly feminine. The color most commonly associated with the brand is the chocolate brown of the famous Vuitton monogram and damier fabrics, and most of its epi and vernis leather bags tend to be made in either brights or neutrals. The designs are classic and widely adored by women, but most of them don’t have any characteristics that make them particularly girlish, like Valentino’s flowers or Gucci’s flora prints. Enter the Louis Vuitton Monogram Transparence, which debuted on the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 runway and is about as traditionally feminine as it gets. The three bags – the Lockit Clutch, classic Lockit and Lockit East-West – are fabricated out of pale nylon voile embroidered with the traditional Vuitton monogram logo and trimmed with tonal white leather. Kelly Rowland was beautiful in black as she accepted her award for TV Personality of the Year at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2012 in London. May 30, 2012, (Sawfnews.com) - Jessica Alba tormented in a black Alexander McQueen gown at the 2012 Glamour Women of the Year Awards by the UK's Glamour magazine at Berkeley Square Gardens in London on Tuesday, May 29.
The floor grazing chiffon number was from the UK designer's SS2012 collection and featured twin ruffled shoulder straps, plunging sweetheart neckline, sheer bodice with frill and ribbon bow detail. The full skirt featured a ruffled peplum on the cinched waist.
The dress had a lingerie inspired look, but Alba rocked it to the T.
She accessorized with black strappy heels, Alexander McQueen clutch and Hilary Tisch jewels.
Her hair was styled in a sleek updo by London's celebrity hair stylist James Brown. Her makeup was done by her pal, makeup artist, Lauren Andersen. She wore dewy plum lipstick, glittering eye shadow and lashings of mascara. A swipe of natural blush accentuated her flawless and luminous skin.
The 31-year-old actress said she took about an hour to dress for the event, where she was honored with Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Alba said she was at the event to celebrate the women and meet all the glamorous ladies whom she does not get to meet otherwise due to her busy life, and was headed to China and New York immediately after the Awards evening.
Another celebrity in Alexander McQueen was Lily Collins, 23, who wore a Pre AW12 green jacquard bustier dress.

So many celebs strutted up the carpet for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2012 that we could barely keep up with the amount of dresses and up-dos on show.

Glamour Awards outfits 2012

Last night was the Glamour Women Of The Year 2012 Awards, and the stars were out in full force. Our best dressed of the night was a tough one - we were torn between pretty young actress Lily Collins and she-still-looks-incredibly-hot-for-her-age Eva Longoria. So we decided they should both be given fashion first place. Eva paid homage to VB once more and wore yet another Victoria Beckham number, this time an orange midi, teamed with nude Brian Atwood heels and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. Lily went for bottle green Alexander McQueen, loose glam waves and patent courts.

Glee's Lea Michele opted for full-on red carpet glamour, in navy off-the-shoulder Zac Posen and Lorraine Schwatz jewels. We couldn't see her shoes unfortunately, but who needs to when you have a lengthy gown like hers? Jessie J surprised us all and went for a '20s inspired flapper dress by Julien Macdonald and gold and black block heels. Drop earrings and an elegant yet sleek up 'do completed her look.

Best pals Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby looked as lovely as ever, if not a little safe. Fearne went for a lilac metallic Theory shift dress, teamed with lilac heels and a silver box clutch, whereas Holly chose a classic black peplum dress with diamante detail and a diamante clutch. We also heard that Holly did her good deed of the year (actually never mind the year, it would be the good deed of our lifetime) and gave her sparkly Louboutin sandals to a journalist who is getting married next year. How cute! Maybe she forgot her Party Feet and they were painful, maybe she's just very nice, but this definitely earned her a place in our hearts. Now, which party are you going to next, Holly? We might just be there waiting...

a Vergara took no prisoners in a strapless pink minidress at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards in London Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
The 39-year-old hottie pulled out one of her usual showstoppers, a tight, revealing dress with plenty of oomph and figure-flattering details. The frock, designed by Zac Posen was a printed pink affair with a low-cut neckline and a ruffled hem which went well with her coloring as well as her celebrated curves.
Her Posen dress was matched with a pair of opentoe black Christian Louboutin pumps, which really would have been the only thing able to go with its ruffle and bright pattern. She finished it off with jewels from Lorraine Schwartz.
As for hair, she left it down in waves around her shoulders. Makeup was a bright smoky eye which set off the dress nicely, major blush, and a warm colored lip.
Sofia was in full bloom for the summer event, held at the Berkeley Square Gardens in London.
She received an award for Comedy Actress of the Year.

Stars from around the globe attended the annual ceremony, held in Berkeley Square, London, by the UK's Glamour magazine, including Kelly Brook, Amanda Holden, Kylie Minogue and Katherine Jenkins. As she arrived in a lace black gown, Hollywood star Jessica Alba said she was looking forward to hanging out with her A-list friends at the event. She said: "It took me about an hour to get ready. I'm really looking forward to just celebrating women and seeing people here that I haven' seen very much because I'm always working, it's nice to just hang out with some of these glamorous people." The fitted classic sheath style dress provides a much-needed antidote to all the trapeze styled dresses of this past summer. The seriously girlie frock is also out, for now anyway. The dresses for fall/winter of 2012/2013 are sexier and edgier and well fitted, but not skin tight -- dresses will remain comfortable. The hem line is mid knee to just an inch or two below the knee. The colors on the runway for the fall/winter season of 2012/2013 are to put it in a nut shell - a bit bland. However, designers did a smashing job at making otherwise bland colors pop.... All the classic fall/winter colors such as brown, black, taupe, grays, and dark blues were prevalent in an abundance at New York's Fashion Week runways. Not to say that some designers didn't use color, because they did. However, it did appear brighter colors were played down for the up coming fall season.. Nicole Kidman shares about 'Paperboy' standing ovation at Cannes

While Nicole Kidman has received varied reactions to her films at the Cannes Film

Festival, and her fifth appearance there was noteworthy. The Hollywood Reporter quoted Kidman saying, "We got an amazing standing ovation, which was great. This is my fifth time [at Cannes], so I've had many, many, many different reactions. That's the longest standing 'O' I've ever gotten at Cannes." The standing ovation for The Paperboy allegedly lasted for 15 minutes, moving co-star Zac Efron and director Lee Daniels to tears. Kidman, however, remained composed. "Lee was crying, but I wasn't crying. I cry at my kids, I cry with my family, I don't really cry outside of that — that's the stuff that brings me to tears! All of this other stuff, the glitter, and those sort of things, I'm more sort of immune to at this stage. It's probably because I've been doing it for so long." The film didn't win any awards or nominations at the festival, but it was nevertheless warmly received. Paperboy is about a reporter, played by Matthew McConaughey, who suspects a mis-carriage of justice in the murder of a small town cop. Kidman plays his wife, and Efron plays McConaughey's little brother.

Nicole Kidman's 'Paperboy' Scene: Director Lee Daniels Explains Why She Urinates On Zac Efron

 

The most infamous scene to come out of this year's Cannes Film Festival undoubtedly occurred in "The Paperboy," when Nicole Kidman's character urinates on Zac Efron. Hollywood was set afire by the moment, with even stars weighing in on the effect it could have on Kidman's career. (Michelle Rodriguez thought it was great, but won't earn Kidman an Oscar nomination, because she isn't black?) "Paperboy" director Lee Daniels has also given his take on the scene, explaining just why Kidman's character had to relieve herself at Efron's expense. As it out, that's not exactly the story. In Daniels' interview with GQ, the director explains that Efron was attacked by a jellyfish and needed the urine to abate his pain. Though other women offer to provide the ointment (the character is played by Zac Efron, after all), Kidman's character comes through with the clutch line: "If anyone's gonna pee on you, it's going to be me." "First of all, it was really hard to shoot," Daniels explained. "It was the third day. The first scene we shot was the sex scene with John [Cusack and Kidman]. I like to get that right out of the way. The second day was the telepathic sex scene in the prison. And the third day of shooting was the piss scene." What a production schedule! The director also revealed that he had hesitations about including the scene in the film, fearing it was simply too much for the big screen. Kidman wasn't having any of it. "Lee, you made me pee on Zac Efron," she said. "If you don't put that in the movie, you're out of your freakin' mind. I did it! I did it!" Was Efron equally excited about the scene? "If you could have watched Zac's face," Daniels recounted, "He's supposed to be passed out and [while Kidman is urinating] he's just got this smile on his face. I'm like, 'Zac, pretend like you're dead!' And he's just got this crazy smile on his face. The whole thing's crazy." Kidman said she wasn't really uncomfortable with the film's more personal scenes. "I think I had to step into a place to play the character where I didn't step out of it and look at myself, so it wasn't hard to shoot," she told reporters at Cannes. The actress also revealed that after Daniels told her she would have to do her own hair and makeup on the set, she dressed herself up and took provocative pictures, which she then texted to Daniels. For his part, Daniels said the entire experience was "a party" and that people were taking the story "way too f---ing seriously."

Nicole Kidman - Nicole Kidman's 'Hemingway And Gellhorn' Struggles To Fire

It's Nicole Kidman 's first television role since 1989's 'Bangkok Hilton,' also a TV movie, and so her return to the small screen as part of the cast of 'Hemingway and Gellhorn' has been much anticipated. The Hbo movie focuses on the romance between legendary writer Ernest Hemingway, played by Clive Owen, and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn - Kidman's character. If Hbo were hoping that the appearance of one of Australia's most decorated actresses in history would garner excitement from the critics however then they might be a little disappointed. The film's received a wide range of reviews from those gushing plaudits to those sticking in the knife. At one of end of the spectrum, Entertainment Weekly comment "Both writers come off as passionate egomaniacs with literary gifts so undeniable, you can't help but enjoy them," with The Hollywood Reporter saying "A dynamic, vivid, well-acted look at two major 20th century writers who shared wars on the battlefront and at home." This is exactly what Jennifer Lopez and former hubby Marc Anthony did in Las Vegas on Saturday night at their ¡Q'Viva! The Chosen show. While the former couple didn't perform together, they did stand hand in hand and embrace, which drew large cheers from the crowd!


Lopez and Anthony traveled the Latin world together on their reality series ¡Q'Viva! to find the best talent from the thousands of singers, dancers, musicians and performers that auditioned. The final 52 performed during Saturday night's live variety show, which was attended by 8,400 people.
The duo, who were married for seven years and have two kids together, twins Max and Emme, separated in July 2011 and Anthony filed for divorce in April.
Though Lopez and Anthony seemed close on stage, the American Idol judge's dancer beau Casper Smart has no reason to worry, as he's set to star in her new reality show for Oxygen centering on the dancers on her tour.
